DIVINE PINES PROCESSING BUILDING | 2020 | Chicago Park, CA | New Construction

When our client needed a support building for their legal cannabis operation, they recognized that the building may need to take on a different life beyond its initial use. This building was designed to live on to one day become a secondary dwelling unit. On this project, we looked at how best to layout the interior spaces to adapt to a future configuration. Future fenestrations were framed in the construction phase so windows and doors could easily be added later. Interior walls were devised to permit for minimal demolition and reconfiguration in the second phase. Plumbing was added for future laundry and kitchen needs. The overall exterior design was intended to blend seamlessly with the existing residence. We look forward to participating in the transformation of this building, and seeing our adaptive design take on its future form.
